Moms, trust me, I know the struggle! The holidays are a time of joy, family, friends, and festivities – but they can also be a time of stress when you’re trying to achieve that perfect work life balance with tons of things going on. Don’t worry, you are not alone! Millions of moms around the world are trying to do the same. Never fear though, I’m here to help!

When you have a family and work schedule during the holidays, it can be hard to find time for both. To make things easier on yourself in this situation, try scheduling your tasks properly so that they’re done at certain times of day when there are fewer distractions around!
Properly scheduling all of your activities for the holidays is essential when you have a lot going on. Not only will it help with managing your work and family time, but by scheduling everything during this busy period of the year – from activities with the family to appointments-you’ll be able to get more done without feeling stressed or overwhelmed!

3. Work Around Your Stressors
I know that the holidays require a lot from us. As moms, almost everything depends on us, especially during the holidays! Grocery shopping, cooking food, looking for gifts, decorating the house, and so much more! Well, I say refuse to live up to everyone else’s expectations of the holidays and don’t let the hustle and bustle of the season get you flustered!
Keep your holidays light and merry by working around what stresses you. You can outsource people to help you out with your holiday checklist. If cooking for your guests, baking cookies, or Christmas shopping is your key stressors this season, simply don’t do them! Many online groceries and restaurants offer meal plans catering services, bakeries are glad to whip up pastries, and all indeed love gift cards! By working around your stressors, you’re giving yourself more time to focus on work and spend more quality time with your family.
4. Say “No.”
“No” isn’t always a negative thing. It’s essential to learn when to say “no” when offered an opportunity that would imbalance your work and life balance during the holidays.
It can be really tempting to say “yes” when your boss approaches you with new work ideas. But, take some time and think about what you need to take on the tasks. Think about your commitments and obligations outside of work before accepting new projects. Your current workload doesn’t always factor into a decision on whether or not you should take up another load, so think hard beforehand!

6. Shift Your Mindset
The holidays can be a stressful time of year, as we’re usually pressed for both work and family obligations. By switching our mindset to one where selfless service is key instead of expectation-based giving, not only will this simple shift help during the next few months; if done year round consistently, it might just turn into an amazing life change!
7. Clarify Expectations
Even if you’ll be spending most of your holidays at home instead of in the office, it’s still important to let your team know when you’re available and what projects will take priority. Let them know if there are any events or other days of celebrations that might affect work schedules in advance to plan accordingly.
Let your employees know if you decide to work from home, when you’ll be available, and stay true to the boundaries. Communicate with them what projects they can expect before the holidays are over so that everyone is on board for this new year!

9. Turn Off Work Notifications
The holidays are a fantastic time of the year where your family will get to spend uninterrupted days together, bond, and create amazing holiday memories. The best way to balance family and work during the holidays is by turning off notifications. Turn those pesky beeping sounds down so you can spend more quality time with your loved ones without all the distractions from your devices.
10. Don’t Forget to Focus on Yourself!
Regarding everything already discussed, the most important thing to consider is YOU! You deserve to rest and relax after a whole year of working your butt off!
